The Museum of Islamic Art offers, apart from its spectacular architecture of the Chinese architect IM Pei, precious treasures and collections from Islamic countries. The museum houses the largest collection of Islamic art in the world, collected from three continents. On display are artifacts of Muslim dynasties throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Al-Thani dynasty. The impressive museum itself has many ornamental design details and is built along the harbor of Doha and offers a great view of the Corniche and Doha skyline.

Getting There:

The Museum is located on the Corniche which runs around the bay and is within walking distance of Souq Waqif.

Sheik Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum

The Sheik Faisal precious private collection of ancient individual pieces is located about 20 km outside of Doha. These include Islamic manuscripts, archaeological findings, textiles, carpets, embroideries and furniture. Even historic vehicles from the 19th century can be admired here. The world class collections reflect the journeys taken by Sheikh Faisal and his passion for creating a fascinating experience and a valuable resource for education.

Getting There:

The museum is located in Al Samriya, 22km west of Doha. The museum is half an hour by car from central Doha.
