Qatar inspects midday break at construction sites
Qatar’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MOLSA) closed 42 building sites because they had ignored the midday outdoor work ban. 475 sites have been inspected since June 15.
A ministerial decree for the year 2007 says outdoor workers should have a break from 11:30am until 3pm from June 15 until August 31 and should only work five hours in daytime. The employers also have to keep an account of the daily working hours. Concerning the heat during summer months more companies have been thinking about uniforms with high-tech cooling gears.
