Qatar helps earthquake victims
Qatar’s Red Crescent (QRC) delivered food and aid to 700 families in two of the most heavily destroyed villages in Nepal. In one of the villages 95% of the houses are destroyed, important streets do not exist anymore or are no longer fit for traffic. About 1,500 injured including children still remain in the village, 50 of them are badly injured.
The day after the catastrophe Qatar started an air bridge at His Highness the Emir Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani’s disposition. 120,000 tons of relief materials and a field hospital already left Qatar last Monday.
More than 7,000 people have died from the heavy earthquake on 25th of April.
